We were very busy today getting our house ready for December! We got the tree up and decorated and we even put a tree up in the basement for the boys to decorate! We also got lights up outside! We are ready to put some presents under that tree!!!

First Project and Movie of the Season...
The boys got a lego set yesterday, so we started to put that together tonight. We also watched Christmas Vacation for the first time this season and even though the boys were pretty tired from traveling, we all enjoyed watching one of our favorite movies!

Thanksgiving and Early Christmas...
We traveled to Burnsville Minnesota to celebrate Thanksgiving and an early Christmas with Nick's family on Friday. We had a wonderful meal and the boys enjoyed some gifts! They were also asked to be ushers in Nick's cousin, Austin's, wedding in April and they were very excited about the suspenders they received for the wedding!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We went over to Aunt Peg and Uncle Brian's house to celebrate Thanksgiving! We all had a great day with a wonderful meal. After that, Nana, Gramps, and my sister's family were able to stay the night at our house. We did a lot of shopping online and even got to give our niece Marley her birthday gift before bed! We all had a fantastic time!

Conner and Ben had their invention convention today at school! They were so excited to share their inventions with everyone. They were very proud and did a great job of talking to people about how they came up with their ideas! They were very excited to receive their ribbons for their inventions and displays!

Skating Party!
Ben and Conner were very excited tonight because they had a birthday party to go to for one of their friends at school. It was at a skating rink, and they have never really been roller skating so they were looking forward to it! They both had so much fun! Nick skated with them a little, but they really wanted to do it by themselves. They gripped the wall as they went around and then slowly got braver! They did really well, although Conner has a really nice bruise on his elbow! They were both sweaty messes by the end of the night and Conner even fell asleep on the ride home!

Shoe Shopping...
Nick insisted on the boys having a decent pair of basketball shoes, so we went on a little shopping trip today after school. Here is Ben trying on a pair of shoes. He was not exactly in the mood for shopping, even if it was for him! With it starting to get dark so early, Conner was getting worried that he wasn't going to get his dinner on time, so we were dealing with two 10 year olds who wanted to be doing anything else besides shopping! But hey, we got some basketball shoes so it was a successful trip!

Basketball!
Soccer has ended, and we opted out of wrestling, so the boys decided they wanted to play basketball. They play a lot of basketball during recess at school, so they were very excited to be on a basketball team. Tonight they had their first practice!

Anniversary #16!
Nick and I got a rare treat this weekend when Nana and Gramps took the boys so we could celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary! We got to go to Galena, go out for dinner, spend some quiet time at home, and sleep in past 6:30 in the morning! We had lots of fun! Happy Anniversary my love!

Last Soccer Saturday!
Our last Saturday of soccer started with a game at 10:00. It was freezing and drizzling, so I was feeling pretty grateful that soccer would be over today! The third quarter started and Conner was playing goalie the best he ever has. It was so awesome to see such an obvious improvement! Unfortunately, Ben took a soccer ball to the face and had to suffer through a gushing bloody nose! He had to sit out the rest of the game. After that game, we had another game scheduled for 12:00, so we headed to the van. The boys had lunch in the van with the heat on so we could all warm up. Just when we started to feel warm again, it was time to head back out and play game #2. The boys had fun, but it was a long four hours! The boys had another great season and we look forward to getting back to it in the Spring!
