Friday Fun Day!

I was pretty excited this week to have an extra day off work today, so I told the boys they could choose a couple of activities. Ben wanted to go to Best Buy and research good gaming computers, so we did that. He asked some questions and got a better idea of what he wants to save his money for. Both Ben and Conner wanted to go to Spare Time for bowling and games. We had a great time bowling and they loved playing some arcade games. We had a late lunch after all the fun. It was really wonderful spending time with my two adult sons. I have been missing spending time with them and I enjoyed seeing them out in the community interacting with people, making decisions, laughing, and having productive conversations. It was one of those moments where I could breathe and think that despite all the obstacles, my guys are going to be all right! It was the best way to spend a day!

 

Gardens...

We upgraded our gardening game this year and got new garden boxes. We actually grew something! Nick just picked a huge jalapeno pepper! He is the only one who will use it, but we were pretty excited!

I ordered one picture from graduation for both Ben and Conner and they arrived this week! I love them!

 

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! Amid unpacking, we managed to celebrate Father's Day as well. Our guys sure do love their dad!

 

Perfect Ending!

The guys went out for one more early morning fishing expedition this morning. We were all able to get out one more time before we had to get the boat out of the water and head home. We were all surprised when Ben hooked a 33 inch Northern! It was the perfect way to end a great week at the lake!

Friday Morning...

Last full day of vacation came way too quickly! We spent the morning on the lake. Conner caught a small Northern but wasn't having much luck later this morning so he was a little pouty and Ben had to look away while Nick had to empty his bladder while still in the boat! We are definitely not ready to be done with our week!!!

Later on Thursday...

This afternoon brought more time for fishing. Conner decided that they needed to catch a Northern and learn how to clean it. I'm pretty sure he wanted to do that since Nick usually doesn't keep Northerns due to not wanting to clean them! Conner googled a how to video and Ben was lucky enough to catch one while we were out this afternoon. We parked the boat and Conner needed to see how to clean that fish right away, so Nick indulged him! Later we had our fish fry! Then, more fishing!
