Last Band Concert!

Conner and Ben had their last 5th grade band concert tonight! It was so much fun to watch them and listen to the progress the band has made throughout the year!

Garage Sale... in the Snow!

We were in Conrad this weekend for the big garage sale weekend! Despite the rain, snow, sleet, and hail, we were able to have a successful sale! Conner wasn't too interested in the event, but Ben helped be the "cashier" and was thrilled that he got to have endless hot chocolate!

Appointment...

Ben had another appointment in Iowa City today. We got some pretty good news because his platelet count has gone up to 67000. Still far from normal, but on the right track! So, Ben will stay on the bone marrow medicine for now as long as his liver function stays stable. We will have to get that tested every month and then go back to IC in about 3 months. While we were waiting for test results, the helicopter landed on the roof so the boys loved watching that! We will take this good news today and pray that Ben keeps getting better!!!

Happy Easter!

We spent our Easter at home! Nick made a ham and we enjoyed some of our day outside playing games and soaking up the sunshine. We got out Kan Jam which is a really fun frisbee game. Ben really got the hang of it and Conner did a lot of giggling! Conner also took a few frisbees to the stomach! It was a glorious day spent together! Happy Easter!!!

Soccer in the Sun...

Today was a beautiful day for soccer! The boys had a double header and Mama and Papa were able to come over to watch! 

Kernels...

Tonight we went to the Cedar Rapids Kernels game! The boys got to high five the players as they took the field. Ben wanted to sit with some of his friends at the game, so that was new for us! Ben sat with his friends and Conner joined him a little while later. It was just another reminder of how our boys are growing up! We had another fun night watching baseball!

Globetrotters!

Tonight we took the boys to see the Harlem Globetrotters at the US Cellular Center! To our surprise, one of the people that works with the team came over to us and asked if we wanted better seats and the boys obviously said yes! So, we got to sit on the bench with the team and we had to walk onto the court and high five all of the players. They announced our name as we walked across the court! The boys even got to dance on the basketball court a couple of times. It was a great show and an awesome time watching our two boys laugh and have fun! It was definitely a night to remember!!!

Conner the Artist...

Conner's artwork was chosen to be on display at a local park! We went to a little reception tonight debuting all of the artwork from our school. The Art teacher chose some pieces from each grade level. Conner was so proud that his was chosen! It was fun to see him in the spotlight tonight! He is becoming quite the artist and I frequently find him drawing pictures of racecars and tornadoes!!!

First Soccer Game!

First soccer game of the season today! The boys were pumped and Nana and Gramps came over to watch, so they were extra excited!
