Summer Vacation!

Even though the boys are done with school, I still had two more days left! I got done Wednesday and I could not be more excited for summer vacation! The boys had some visitors while I finished out my last two days... it was definitely a new experience looking at my camera notifications at home and seeing girls on there!!! We will have to see what other surprises this summer has in store for us!

 

Finals!

Finals are done! Ben and Conner have officially finished their freshmen year and have received all As and Bs for their final grades. We could not be more proud!

 

Last Full Day!

Today is the last full day of school for the boys! They still have a final to take tomorrow, but this is the last day they will be at school all day as freshmen! What a year it has been! They have accomplished so much and we have worked so hard!

 

Appointment...

I took Ben to the University of Iowa today for a doctor appointment. His platelet count was over 100k today so we were happy with that! We did have a lot of questions today because Ben recently did a research paper on ITP and he had some things he wanted to ask the doctor about. The best conversation was about rattlesnake venom! While researching potential treatments, we came across a case study in which a patient had received rattlesnake venom and it cured him of his ITP... although he did have hallucinations... but the doctor indulged us and looked it up and found another article that debunked the idea! We are always looking for a cure!!!

 

Great Season!

Ben and Conner ended their season playing against Cedar Falls tonight and got the win! It has been so much fun to watch our two boys get so much better with their soccer skills and enjoy being part of a high school soccer team! We are so proud of their effort this year!

 

Last Home Game!

The guys had their last home soccer game today. They fought hard and got the win! Hard to believe the season is almost over!

 

Happy Mother's Day!

We enjoyed a very relaxing day at home today! We usually like to go gets plants and flowers but the weather wasn't very nice today so we decided to postpone that. We got research papers worked on, watched the Nascar race, and just enjoyed being at home! Happy Mother's Day!!!

Soccer Pics...

We got the boys' soccer pictures from the coach today. Ben is #15 and Conner is #3. (Conner informed us that he wanted a serious face for his picture!)

 

Start Your Engines!

We could not wait for the start of the race! It was so much fun to hear all the cars start up. It was a great race with lots of cautions, but no really big wrecks. Truex led lots of laps so Conner was loving that. In the end, Denny Hamlin won. It was such an awesome day of fun for all of us!

 

Fan Walk and Pits!

We had a little lunch and headed down to go to the pit area! It was really cool to see all the cars close up. Conner's favorite driver is Martin Truex Jr, so he posed by his car, while Ben posed by Joey Logano's car. We even snuck in and got a picture in Victory Lane. The guys all signed the start/finish line so that was pretty awesome for all of them! We enjoyed seeing all of the pit boxes and Ben and Conner really liked walking on the track. We watched all of the driver introductions and then headed up to our seats. The planes flying over the track at the end of the National Anthem was one of my favorite things today!
