Life.

Well. Sometimes life isn't fair and things don't work out the way you planned... Nick lost his job recently much to our shock and dismay. Our world has been rocked, so today we went out to the lake and just focused on the sunshine and our family. It was nice to put the stress aside for a few hours. I honestly don't know what the next few weeks or months will look like for us, but we had a wonderful 4 hours together today on Lake Delhi!

 

Home...

We got a picture of all these cute kids this morning before we traveled home. The boys are staying at Nana and Gramps' house for a couple of days so we said our goodbyes and we will bring them home on Wednesday! What a great weekend!!!

 

Birthday Celebration!

The morning started with Nana and Nick taking all the kids to get donuts! We ventured out to the lagoon and we raced the remote control boats in the afternoon. Gramps filled up a bunch of water balloons and the kids enjoyed some balloon fights in the backyard. Next, everyone opened their birthday presents and it was great to celebrate with everyone, especially since this year my parents turn 70 years old!!! We had a great dinner and enjoyed cake and homemade ice cream from my aunt. We had a great time celebrating all of the birthdays!

 

July Birthday Weekend!

We traveled to Bettendorf today to celebrate all of the July birthdays in our family! My brother and sister and their families were there as well, and we enjoyed the entire weekend at my parents' house! Today the kids enjoyed some outdoor activities, made smores, and even got some video games in!

 

Visit...

My sister's family came over today and we enjoyed lunch at Frydae and lots of time at the arcade at Sparetime! The kids had a great time. The birthday celebrations continue!!!

 

Procedures...

Nick had to go in for a colonoscopy and endoscopy today. He did great and even handled the prep really well! I always get a bit nervous at the hospital and I know Nick was nervous about all of it, but he did a terrific job and we were out of there within a few hours!

 

Done!

We finished our basement project! We still have to figure out what we really want to do with this room, so for now it will hold our foosball table (and nick's Nascar collection!)

 

Boating Fun!

We went to Lake Delhi today to do a little fishing but mostly to ride around the lake! Nick did catch a catfish! We all took turns driving the boat and we enjoyed lunch in the boat while we cruised around. It was so much fun! We also had promised our boys a bonus birthday meal at Zoeys so we made that happen tonight. The zookie completed the trip! 

 

Birthday Fishing...

The boys wanted to go fishing today so we headed over to George Wyth Lake and met Mama and Papa there to enjoy a few hours of sunshine and fishing! Conner caught the only fish today, but as always, it was great to be out in the boat!

 

Happy Birthday Boys!

Conner and Ben turn 16 years old today!!! Unbelievable how fast time goes by! We opened presents, went out to lunch and raced go karts in the afternoon and enjoyed some ice cream cake while we sang Happy Birthday to our two amazing sons! It was a fantastic day and we will keep celebrating all week!
