More Days at Home...

We will be home from school today and tomorrow because of the low temperatures! We have already played a few games and the boys decided they wanted to watch movies. We have started with Captain Underpants and they can't look away from the tv!

Prep...

With all of our extra days at home, Nick and I have been going through "stuff" and getting it ready for a future garage sale or trashing it. We have accomplished a lot in the last few days! I found these "pit passes" I had made for the boys' 5th birthdays and they insisted on wearing them today and carrying their checkered flags!

Saturday...

It was Conner's turn to surprise me by reading in his bed this morning! By the afternoon, the boys needed some outside time, so Nick took them out to battle more of the snow in the driveway!

Snow Daze...

We have had 3 snow days this week, a planned no school day for the boys, and an early dismissal... what a crazy week! We have all been getting up early because one never knows if we will actually have school that day! I was pleasantly surprised when I found Ben in his bed reading this morning at 7:00. That was a great start to my day!!! He exclaimed how much he likes this book which happens to be Tom Sawyer! The 3 of us ventured to Target this morning and the boys talked me into some new legos… They needed a new activity since they have been home all week!

No Rails..

The boys didn't have school today and I just had to work in the morning, so Nick and I took them to lunch and bowling! They insisted on no rails (bumpers) this time! Their scores may have been pretty low, but they loved it! No more bumpers for these two!!!

Always...

On Saturday mornings (especially when basketball is canceled) this is what I find the boys doing! Always on the couch, always right next to each other, and always playing games on their tablets!

Wish...

Nick treated us to a grilled turkey dinner tonight and the boys got to fight over the wishbone. When it broke, Conner ended up with the bigger piece. He said he wished for joy and happiness... and some other stuff that he couldn't tell us because it's his wish!

Saturday Fun!

Conner had a basketball game this morning and Ben and I cheered our loudest because Conner scored a basket! It was awesome!!! Conner was pretty pumped! After the game, the boys requested a movie and lunch in the living room, so we enjoyed a little picnic on the couch. Then, with the snow today, Nick took the boys outside and they were able to play in the snow. Conner made a "snow motorcycle" and Nick and Ben worked on making snow bricks for a fort. My heart was happy when I watched out the front door and they were all playing without a care in the world!

Four More Weeks...

We had a doctor appointment for Ben today in Iowa City so the four of us took the day off work and school and headed to the Children's Hospital. We found out that Ben's platelet count has not gotten any better, so unfortunately it was not a very happy visit. We have to give Ben's body four more weeks to see if it will start increasing its platelets. Four more weeks of Ben not being able to do his sports and activities is going to be hard on him, but we will make it through! Hopefully a little more time can heal his little body!

Saturday Games...

Ben and Conner were ready to go to basketball this morning! Conner played a great game and Ben enjoyed cheering for his team! We also enjoyed playing board games and Nintendo Switch games tonight! The boys know how to play the games better than Nick and I do!

Quality Time...

The only good thing about Ben not being able to do sports right now is that while Conner and Nick went to basketball practice, Ben and I got to spend some quality time together with some legos tonight! Conner came home and declared that he had a great practice!
