A New Deck!

We decided a few months ago to build a deck on our house. The company that we chose to do this was able to start this last week! We are very excited for the finished product!!!

Movie Wednesday!

I took the boys to the kids movie today which happened to be Wonder! We love that movie... I cried while the boys kept asking me questions! It was also a dress up day at the theater so they got some more use out of some Halloween costumes!

Day Trip...

We took a day trip to Cedar Falls today to go see my sister's family, my parents, and my grandma. It is always good to see how Grandma is doing and the boys enjoyed swimming and playing video games at the hotel where my sister was staying. Then the Hedlunds and the Longs enjoyed a meal out at Old Chicago before we headed home for the night!

Trombone Lessons...

Ben and Conner had their first trombone lesson today! The lesson went pretty good, or so they say, and when we got home, the boys wanted to keep practicing!

Pro Wedding Pics...

We got to see some of the professional photos taken at Austin and Katie's wedding back in April! Great photos of our boys!!!

Swimming Lessons...

Today was the first day of swimming lessons for the summer. I was surprised that Ben was in level 4 while Conner had been moved to level 5, which happens to meet in the deep end... Conner must have moved up a level during the week that he went through school because I had no clue. Level 5 is an advanced level that meets at different times and has a longer lesson. He must not have known that he was in level 5 either because he got pretty nervous and insisted that he wasn't ready for 5 yet! So even though I was a little worried about the same thing, I convinced him that he could do it and everything would be fine! He amazed me and he did just fine in 12 feet of water. He was able to swim and tread water. He even practiced diving a bit! He ended the lesson with some coughing after swallowing some water on his way back up to the surface after a very nice dive, but he was pretty proud of himself. I was just amazed and I loved watching him! Ben also did great this morning! He listened really well and as soon as he gets his side stroke to look a bit more natural, he will be joining Conner in the deep end!

Happy Father's Day!

We all enjoyed a nice Father's Day at home today. The boys washed vehicles and then, despite the heat, we sat outside and enjoyed each other's company! Nick opened a few gifts and then he fried some chicken wings for supper. Happy Father's Day to an amazing man who always puts his family first! We love you so much Nick and we are so lucky to have you! Also Happy Father's Day to Gramps and Papa who are the best dads we could ever ask for!

Our Saturday Night!

This is what we get on a Saturday night... nachos, a movie, Conner dressed as Darth Vader, and Ben barely dressed (but with suspenders)… I'm not complaining!

Heading Home...

We were up early on Friday morning to make our way back home. The boys had a baseball game tonight (which later got canceled) that we wanted to get home for. Since it took us a bit longer than expected to get there, we wanted to leave ourselves plenty of time to get home and have a couple hours before baseball. We had a pretty decent trip home and got the van and boat unpacked. (I got a picture of Ben because he "invented" his own cup holder using his ball cap and bracelet!) We had a great time in Minnesota! It was awesome to stay in such a nice house. The boys had an amazing time fishing and hanging out with their grandparents and cousins! It was a fantastic week!!!

Packing and Fishing...

Ben got to go fishing with Nick this morning. Conner still didn't feel the greatest, so he slept in a little. Later in the morning, Ben and Conner both got to go fishing with Papa. We spent the rest of the day fishing from the dock, fishing in the boats, and packing! Fishing was definitely the best way to spend our last day in Minnesota!
