Happy Halloween!

Halloween looked a bit different for us this year. The boys opted to stay home and hand out candy to the trick or treaters. We had about 50 kids, so we thought that was a pretty good number!

Cut Outs...

Ben and Nick took a couple photos of the Hawkeye football field while they were in Iowa city for Ben's appointment this week. Ben's platelet count was back down to 52k, so that wasn't great news for us, but Ben enjoyed getting to see the cardboard cut outs in the stands before the first home game of this crazy season!

Errands...

Conner's anxiety has been a struggle lately, so I have been trying to get him out of the house more, even if it's just running errands with me. We ventured to Kohls today and he found this $400 llama that he thought was pretty cool!

Sunshine!

Such a beautiful day (especially after a stressful week) called for some fishing! It was very enjoyable sitting out on the lake in the sunshine!

Negative!

I got out of the shower this morning and was met by these two teenagers... anxiously awaiting their first day of virtual school! It was a tougher day than I had expected, so we were all a bit frustrated by lunchtime, but we learned how the process works so if the boys have to do it again, they will be more prepared! In the early afternoon, our doctor called and gave us the great news that Conner's covid test is NEGATIVE! Big relief!

Boo...

Conner got sick at school this morning, so I had to go pick him up. He had an upset stomach, bit of a sore throat, and a headache. In normal times, I would have brought him home and sent him to bed, but things aren't exactly normal right now... so I called the doctor and he said I had better bring Conner in. The doctor gave Conner a Covid test and Conner really did a great job tolerating it! Conner and I are the worriers, so it has been a long day wondering what the result will be. The doctor said that Conner has a bit of an ear infection, so we are hoping that is all that's going on. At least this kid is smiling under that mask! We won't have results until tomorrow, so Conner and Ben will be staying home from school tomorrow until we make sure the result is negative! I will stay home with them, and we are going to try virtual school as long as everyone is feeling good!
