Hugs...

The boys and I were able to go visit my grandma today, after not seeing her at all for over a year. We forgot to take any pictures, but that visit did us all some good. The boys kept saying how good they felt being able to see her! My heart just melted and I realized how much we have all been missing those hugs. It was a good reminder that as soon as we are all able, we need to hug our people! I am so happy that we were able to give my grandma a hug today!

Slumber Party...

Ben and Conner have spent the last couple of nights watching movies and sleeping in the basement! They have been watching the Harry Potter movies again! Spring Break is almost over so we are trying to take advantage of our mornings to sleep in!

Frame...

Papa and Mama came over today so that the guys could get a start on framing a bedroom in our basement! They made tremendous progress and Ben and Conner really enjoyed being able to help!

Cash...

We give the boys an allowance when they complete expected chores and the guys are enjoying having some more cash in their wallets! Conner decided he wanted to spend some money, so he bought a new Lego project and worked hard to finish that today!

Shopping...

We traveled to Altoona and Urbandale today to go to Bass Pro and Homemakers Furniture. We spent the night in Ankeny with my sister's family. It was nice to get out of town for a day! The boys love Bass Pro Shop and they both chose a new hat while we were there. They didn't care too much for the furniture shopping! Nick and I didn't purchase anything while we were there, but I think we got a good idea of what we want in the basement. It is time for some new furniture for our family room downstairs!

Band Solos!

In 7th grade, the boys are supposed to have a solo contest in Band. That was canceled this year, because of Covid, but they were still assigned a solo and the teacher sent us a recording of each of the guys performing in the band room!

Great News!

What a day! Ben went to Iowa City today for his injection and we found out that his platelet count is 215k!!! Unbelievable! We are so excited and Ben gets to wait 3 weeks (usually it is 1-2 weeks) before he has to go back to get another shot.

Stitches...

Ben was playing football at school today and, as he tells it, he was trying to catch the ball, someone landed on him, and his face smashed into the floor. Consequently, his glasses smashed into his face and left him with a pretty deep cut above his eye! The school nurse was concerned because she was having a hard time stopping the bleeding and figured he was going to need some stitches. So, I left work, picked up Ben, and we headed to the doctor where Ben did indeed need two stitches to close the cut! He did a great job, but he was pretty nervous! Never a dull moment around here....
