Happy Halloween!

It is Halloween on a Monday, so we have a pajama day at school! Ben and Conner are excited to wear their new pajamas to start the day!

The boys could not wait to put their costumes on after school. Ben is Falcon and Conner is AntMan! We went to a Halloween party at a neighbor's house and then went trick or treating! The boys got to hang out with friends while we walked around the neighborhood. They were much more independent this year! Ben and Conner definitely started to get tired, so by the end, we were just skipping houses to get home! They chose a few pieces of candy to eat and they went right to bed! It was a great time for all 4 of us!

Pumpkin Carving!

We finally got around to carving our pumpkins this afternoon! Conner was first and he wanted a vampire face because Halloween is scary. Ben wanted a smiley face because Halloween makes him happy! Nick did a great job carving the designs that the boys drew on paper.

Ben and Conner were very happy with their finished products!

Rough...

After a very fun and late night, we drove home today from Ankeny. Conner fell asleep, but Ben stayed awake the whole time! They are both so tired and covered in grass stains and Gatorade mustaches!

Family Photos...

We got to go see my brother's new house this weekend and he took some pictures of us while we were all together!

Bonus Morning!

On Friday morning, there was no school, so the boys and I got to sleep in just a little! It is so awesome to wake up to these two characters! I love how they start every single day with a smile!

Banquet Night...

Nick and I had to go to Nick's award banquet tonight for work. Our aunt Peg was kind enough to come and watch our boys! Conner was not happy when we were getting ready to leave and wrote us a note, asking to go with us! The note was cute, but he still had to stay home. The boys enjoyed their night in with Aunt Peg!

Meeting Great Grandma!

Great Grandma Vermaat made the trip from Arizona to Iowa this week, so we all got to go to dinner tonight! This is the first time that the boys have met their Great Grandma, so it was pretty exciting for them! It was wonderful to see Grandma and we hope she has a wonderful few days in Iowa!

Gone Fishin... Again...

The guys went fishing again today! One of their favorite things about fishing with Dad is all the food he packs for lunch! The first picture is Conner enjoying his sub sandwich. Then, there is Dad and Ben, and lastly, Conner shows off his big catch of the day!

Great Game!

No pictures tonight, but I definitely wanted to remember what happened tonight at the boys' soccer game. They both played so well, we were just elated to see them both work so hard! Conner was just running all over the field! I had several people tell me how impressed they were at how he attacks the ball and isn't afraid of anything! He even stopped a couple of goals while he was playing the goalie position. It was awesome to watch. Ben had an awesome night and he even scored a goal!!! I had goosebumps! He got control of the ball, dribbled a little, and kicked it right into the goal. I think he even surprised himself! He was so happy and can't stop talking about it. We went out for dinner after the game to celebrate! Just another day in the life of our boys who continue to show us that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to!

Soccer...

The boys are still enjoying soccer. Although our team has yet to win a game, our two boys continue to try their best and we are always proud of them! The grandparents have all seen a game now and the boys love it when more people come to watch them!
