Happy Halloween!

It is almost time to go trick-or-treating!  Ben chose Captain America and Conner chose Darth Vader this year!

Trick-or-treating was eventful, as usual!  By the fourth house, we insisted that Conner take his mask off because he could not see where he was going, so he pouted about that for a while.  In fact, for a few houses, he insisted that we should cancel Halloween...  Ben gave us the best laugh though, when he walked up to a house with some sounds going, and just as he got to the front door, there was a loud ghost sound that sent Ben running for the hills!  He booked it outta there!  Nick and I had a lot of fun listening to them as we walked along!  Great night!!!  Happy Halloween!!!

Last Soccer Game!

Conner and Ben had their last soccer game today!  It was a rainy, chilly day and I really wasn't looking forward to it, but it was the best time I have had watching these two play soccer!  The ground was soaking wet, everyone was covered in mud, and every time someone fell, you could see all the water and mud splash up around them.  It was so awesome to watch these two do their thing.  They were always right in the action!  I discovered that even though they play on a much bigger field now, I can still hear Conner's giggles and Ben's cheers from the other side!  The best moment was when Conner fell right by the sideline where all the parents sit, and when he got up and gave us this look of  horror at having to be covered in mud, all the adults busted out laughing.  His facial expression was priceless!  Ben had a great pass to a teammate who then scored a goal, so he was pretty happy with himself! We all really enjoyed this soccer season and I know this is something the boys want to keep doing for a while!  They have improved so much...  Nick and I were so proud of our boys today!!!

Pumpkin Carving...

We waited to carve our pumpkins until after school on Friday.  The boys have been asking all week, so they were pretty excited that they finally got to do it!  The 3 guys did a fabulous job!  The little boys were very specific this year in how they wanted their pumpkin faces to look, so it was pretty funny listening to them explain everything to Dad!

Fun Weekend!

On Sunday morning, after a little breakfast, we were ready for some water fun!

The boys were waiting for the big bucket of water to fall on them!

Conner and Ben kinda posed for a second in the wave pool!

The boys loved the big slides again this year!

Ben and Conner added another slide to their list of things they can do all by themselves!  They had to slide down on a tube and then ride the lazy river at the end of it.  They loved being able to do it by themselves! In the past, Nick has used a double tube and gone with them one at a time, but they were having none of that this time!

After lunch, the boys begged to do the game room so we spent the next hour and a half playing games!

This is their favorite game... they call it the "shark game!"  Conner and Ben are both pretty good at it and towards the end, that's all they wanted to play!

After games, we did more swimming, ordered pizza for dinner, and went back for more swimming!  We had a fantastic time!  As Dad was loading up the rest of our stuff on Monday morning, I talked the boys into sitting for a picture.  They were exhausted, actually we all were, but we had a very fun trip!

Great Wolf!

We have a 4 day weekend so we thought we would head up to Great Wolf in Wisconsin Dells.  The boys love it there and were so excited when they found out that was where we were going!  They relaxed while Nick and I unpacked.  We had some dinner and went down to have some fun in the water as soon as we could!

The boys did great at all the waterparks and on the slides.  They decided they wanted to wear their Halloween costumes tonight for the dance party in the lobby.  They loved wearing their new costumes, but were already a little too tired to fully enjoy the dancing!

And they are out...

Chicken!

Nick was very excited tonight to grill his first beer can chicken!  It turned out great!

Storm...

Ben and Conner insisted on sitting by the door so they could watch the thunderstorm tonight!  Ben even had to have the IPad so he could watch the radar, too!  They are also sporting their latest hats they made at school. So while they watch the storm, they are cackling in between their gasps when they see lightning!

Painting...

Conner and Ben have been begging to paint their ghost and pumpkin that came in their annual "Boo Bags" from Nana and Gramps, so they decided tonight was the night.  The shirts came off and the paints came out!  They were very serious about their projects!

Conner painted his ghost white, shaded with some purple, and then ended up painting over the entire thing with black.  We asked him why he painted it black and he insisted it wasn't all black.  When Nick accused Conner of being a little weird, Conner came back with, "I'm not weird, I'm an artist!"  Later when Conner admitted that he had indeed painted his ghost all black, he said, "Well, maybe I'm not a very good artist.  I think I will be a police officer instead when I grow up."  He keeps us laughing...

Ben did a wonderful job making his pumpkin look very realistic.  He chose to paint the whole thing orange and then he shaded some spots with a bit of yellow.  He also made the stem green.  He was very proud of himself!  You give this kid a job and he takes it very seriously!

Minions...

Minion hats for our adorable and crazy minions...

Happy Friday!

It sure seems like school is taking its toll on Conner, Ben, and Mommy! By Friday, we are so happy to have the weekends to look forward to!  We have taken lots of  Happy Friday pictures over the last few years, and I couldn't help but notice how grown up they look in this latest one!

Saturday Soccer...

Saturday brought another soccer game!  Nana, Gramps, Mama, and Papa were all able to come watch so the boys were very excited to have everyone there!  Conner is the one grinning in the first picture and Ben is celebrating in the second!  It was a nice day for soccer!

Goalies!

The boys had a soccer game tonight and they both got to be the goalie during one half of the game. Conner was the goalie for the first half and Ben was the goalie for the second half.  They both did an amazing job!  I also got some shots of Nick helping them warm up before the game, so they could practice their goalie skills!
