Rough Game...

We traveled to Iowa City High tonight for soccer. This was a really tough game! The boys didn't get much playing time. 4 yellow cards and 1 red card later, the teams tied at 1-1. We were really happy with the tie!

 

Game Time!

The boys had their first soccer game today! Their first two games were canceled or postponed so they pretty excited that they could actually play today! The game was at Iowa City Liberty. I didn't get many pictures because the sun was directly in our faces, but I got a few. Their team won! They both did great and had a lot of fun!

 

Job Shadow...

Conner had a job shadow today over at Kirkwood, where he got to see several different companies associated with automotive technology. He had a wonderful time!

 

Change in Plans...

Today was supposed to be the boys' first soccer game! They were all ready to go, but the rain just wouldn't stop, so the game was canceled at the last minute. Instead they were required to go to a short practice to watch another team. (Yes, in the rain!) So they bundled up and I took them over for a little while!

 

Happy Easter!

We stayed home for Easter this year and enjoyed some smoked ham and some time just to be together at home! Happy Easter!

 

Rubber Bands!

Time keeps moving way too fast! Spring Break has come and gone with little to show for it but a lot of soccer practices! It was definitely nice to have the week off from work and school, but we stayed pretty busy! Nick had to work all week, so I carted the boys to practice twice a day and we ran errands in between, and fit in a little time to relax, too. Today, Conner had an orthodontist appointment and he sent me this picture! He added rubber bands today and wanted me to see what they looked like! It might have taken him a while to put them in tonight, but he will get the hang of it in no time, I am sure!

 

First Place...

The guys got to play in a basketball tournament tonight at school! Their team took first place so they were very excited!

 

Road Trip...

We went to Ankeny today and spent some time at an arcade before we celebrated family February birthdays! 

 

Projects...

The boys finished their latest science projects tonight! They had to choose a landform and give information on how it was formed and how it affects the surface of the earth. Ben chose the Appalachian Mts and Conner chose the volcano that formed Hong Kong. We are very happy with how both projects turned out!

 

Homework...

Homework time.... they usually don't look this happy about it! 

 

Birthday!

I had a great birthday today! We celebrated with gifts and cards and dinner out to Zeppelins!

 

Snake!

Conner's science teacher has many class pets so the boys have enjoyed going in after school to visit the animals. They both have been brave enough to hold the big snake!

 

Busy...

Life has been so busy lately that I actually had to tell the boys to send me their own selfies so that I could put something on the blog!

 

So Much Snow...

This has been a crazy snowy week! The boys had finals this week, but Tuesday and Wednesday ended up being snow days and we even had a late start on Thursday, so finals this semester were very abbreviated! We are getting a bunch more snow today, so Nick even got a snow day day! The boys and I were already home because it was a scheduled day off for the end of the semester, so we all had a bonus day at home! I took a picture of the deck this morning after Nick shoveled some of it, but a couple of hours later it was filled back up again!

 

Redecorating...

Conner got a new shelf! He needed some more "display" space in his room so we ordered a new bigger shelf and some hat hangers. No more junk on the floor! We are all happy!

 

Last Day...

Our last day of winter break... We spent the morning running around to appointments, but this afternoon has been blissfully quiet! Back to school tomorrow...
