Birthday Party!

We had a great Pirate birthday party on Saturday!  The boys were so excited that they boycotted naptime and chose to run around the house instead!  We had a really good day and we are very thankful that our families could help us celebrate!  We still have a few days until they are officially 4, but it was great to celebrate this weekend with the big bash!

Such a fun day!  Wish I would have taken more pictures, but it went by so fast!  I cannot believe that they are going to be four...

4 Year Pictures!

We had the boys' 4 year pictures taken and here are some of the better ones!  We fought for these pictures, people!  The boys sat down for the first picture and Ben immediately started crying and saying that he was done, so needless to say, our session was bru-tal...  but we got it done!  Our babies are almost FOUR!!!!

They sure can be cute when they WANT to be!!!  8 more days until we have two 4 year olds running around!

Pirate Prep...

Pirate Preparations are underway for our birthday gathering this weekend!  The boys can't wait to see their grandparents and aunts, uncles, and cousins!  We sat down this morning to make some pirate ships that Nana had given us!  We can't wait for our pirate party to celebrate turning 4 YEARS OLD!!!!

Happy 4th of July!

We got out the sparklers tonight and let the guys hold their own!  They did pretty good!  They were amazed by the sparks and just kept wanting to do more and more.  No burns = Success!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!

Dirt Pile

We moved into our house 7 years ago.  There is (for lack of a better term) a "dirt pile" in our backyard that has always been there.  It would have made a great garden, but since no one in this house has a green thumb, it has remained nothing more than a dirt pile all these years.  One of the items on Nick's list of home improvements was to clean the pile up and even it out so it would look like a beautiful garden just waiting to happen!  Nick finished the project tonight with the help of our eagerly helpful sons!  We are getting very close to getting this house on the market!

Bettendorf Break...

We desperately needed a change of scenery this week so I took the boys to Bettendorf for a couple of days.  Nick had to work so we made the trip without Daddy.  Of course, we chose the hottest days of summer to go, so our outdoor activities were a bit limited.  We spent the entire afternoon on Thursday at the Children's Museum.  The boys LOVE it there so they were so excited.  There was a Clifford display there so the boys loved that!

On Friday, after a power Target run and a much needed nap, we found ourselves back at the museum where the guys concentrated most of their efforts on the tractors.

On Saturday morning, we got out the sprinkler and the boys had a spectacular time running through the water!  They also enjoyed helping Nana water all the flowers and helping Gramps put up some outdoor lights.

The highlight for all of us was the boys' first official ride in Gramps' mustang convertible.  Ben and Conner were so excited that they finally got to ride in the "red car!"

Thanks Nana and Gramps for a great couple of days!  We really appreciate it!!!!
