Ben's surgery...

It sure has been an interesting week here at the Hedlund household.  Ben woke up early Monday morning and got sick... everywhere.  I got sick on Tuesday and it hit Nick on Wednesday.  Conner had to have some dental work done that day so that was his first experience at the dentist's office where he was not all smiles!  In fact, he had to be carried back to the dental chair because he refused to go!  After it was all done, he had a numb mouth and wasn't quite sure how he felt about it, so he spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching movies.  On Thursday, Conner got sick, but thankfully we all were feeling much better by Thursday night.  This morning, Ben had to have ear surgery to get his tubes out and possibly patch the holes they left in his eardrums.  He did a great job waiting at the Surgery Center!

Ben's surgery went really well.  Both tubes were removed and they only had to patch his right eardrum.  They had to patch it with skin from behind his ear so he does have a couple of sutures behind his right ear.  He was fully awake when the nurses brought him back to us and we are home now, where getting Ben to relax and take it easy is proving to be a bit difficult... no surprise there!  I tried explaining to Ben how after people have surgery, they are supposed to rest, sleep, and take it easy.  His response was, "Yeah, that's not gonna happen..."  But I am pleased to report that our boy is doing great and is his usual happy self!
